Venue

 

Decide who to invite. Identify different people who could make a positive contribution to the event. They may include:

  • students
  • the principal
  • other staff
  • parents of all students or only specific year levels
  • school council members
  • a local GP
  • community health workers such as community nurses, alcohol and drug workers, youth workers and environmental health and safety officers
  • local media
  • key community members
  • local police

5 Safe Party Tips
  1. Restrict your party to 'invitation only'
  2. Keep emergency numbers and a first aid kit handy
  3. Have non-alcoholic options available
  4. Think about how you will monitor alcohol intake and how much alcohol you will serve - what sort of supervision will there be?
  5. Consider how your guests will get home - will there be designated drivers?
