Downloadable fact sheets

Here are three fact sheets that you can photocopy and hand out to parents and other guests at your ‘Alcohol Information Night’:

Fact Sheet 1: Youth Alcohol Facts

Fact Sheet 2: The Role of Parents

Fact Sheet 3: Standard Drinks

Other materials

You can order a variety of free stuff from the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing to use at your Alcohol Information Night.

This includes alcohol education resources, some which are specifically designed for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and people who speak languages other than English.   You can also obtain brochures, coasters, fridge magnets and other resources to provide to participants to take away from the Information Night.

These can be ordered at

http://www.alcohol.gov.au/internet/alcohol/publishing.nsf/Content/resources-menu

Be aware that not all products may be in stock at all times and remember to allow for at least 2-3 weeks before delivery.

5 Safe Party Tips
  1. Restrict your party to 'invitation only'
  2. Keep emergency numbers and a first aid kit handy
  3. Have non-alcoholic options available
  4. Think about how you will monitor alcohol intake and how much alcohol you will serve - what sort of supervision will there be?
  5. Consider how your guests will get home - will there be designated drivers?
